Lab testing plays a crucial role in optimizing your health. We are able to detect, diagnose, and treat health complications that keep you from living your best life. You will find that the lab testing we offer here at Optimize You is more comprehensive than other health care offices.

One of our lab tests is our Comprehensive Thyroid Panel. We test for the following:

TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone)- Measures levels of thyroid stimulating hormone, which is produced by the pituitary gland in your brain. This test can find out if your thyroid gland is overactive (hyperthyroidism) or underactive (hypothyroidism). Signs of hyperthyroidism include anxiety, weight loss, hand tremors, increased heart rate, puffiness, eye bulging, and difficulty sleeping. Signs of hypothyroidism include weight gain, tiredness, hair loss, low tolerance for cold temperatures, irregular menstrual cycle, and constipation.

Free/Total T4 &T3- Measures levels of triiodothyronine, which are hormones made by the thyroid and play an important part in controlling weight, body temperature, muscle strength, and nervous system. If these levels are abnormal, it may be a sign of thyroid disease.

Reverse T3- Less common form of T3 and is a hormone produced by your T4’s metabolism. Signs of abnormal levels include chronic stress, depression, weight fluctuations, brain fog, anxiety, and hair loss.

Anti-thyroglobulin- Measures antibodies to thyroglobulin, which is a protein found in thyroid cells. Finding anti-thyroglobulin antibodies can mean there is thyroid gland damage caused by the immune system. This also could mean that you may have graves disease, hashimoto thyroiditis, subacute thyroiditis, underactive thyroid, systemic lupus erythematosus, or type 1 diabetes.

Anti Thyroid- Measures the level of thyroid antibodies, which produces hormones that regulate the way the body uses energy and also regulates weight, body temperature, muscle strength, and mood. Some antibodies destroy thyroid tissue and some cause the thyroid to make too much of certain hormones. This test can usually measure thyroid peroxidase antibodies (TPO), thyroglobulin antibodies (Tg), and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) receptors.
